Supervised Visitation

Supervised visitation is designed to ensure that a child can have safe contact with an absent parent without having to be put in the middle of the parents’ conflicts or other problems. Our goal is to ensure the safety and well-being of the child so that they can strengthen their relationship with their parent in a safe environment. The objective for parenting time is to provide neutrality, keep children emotionally and physically safe, help foster a healthy relationship between the parent and child(ren), and strengthen the parent-child bond.
Family Time Plus provides a neutral, professional third party that is present and observes/listens during the entire visitation. Within a set of guiding rules that are intended to protect children, parents and child(ren) are allowed to interact/play/ communicate, thus enabling the bond between the child and parent to be maintained.

Why Family Time Plus

What sets Family Time Plus apart from other providers is that supervised visitation can be provided in the visiting parent’s home or locations in the community, such as a park, restaurant, or a recreational facility (bowling, miniature golf, children’s museum, etc.). By allowing the parent/child visitation to occur within the familiar setting of the parent’s home or participating in a fun activity located in the community, it “normalizes” the visit and maximizes the likelihood that a positive rapport between the parent and child(ren) will result.
Service Procedure

Once a referral is received from either the Court, an attorney, Guardian ad Litem, or parent, Family Time Plus will secure the contact information (names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses) for both parents. A packet of information will be forwarded to both parties for them to complete and return to Family Time Plus. The packet of information includes a copy of the program brochure, intake form, rules and procedures form, and release of information forms. A free initial intake call is made with both parties to review rules/procedures and to facilitate a date/time for the first visit. Following each visit, an observation report will be generated by the visit monitor and sent to the attorneys and guardian ad litem. At the end of first visit, subsequent visits are arranged.
