About Family Time Plus
Families are the building blocks of any society. The stronger the material used to make the blocks, the stronger the building will be. While there are many families that have the necessary skills to raise their children with lots of love and nurturing, there are also many families who struggle with knowing how to overcome the challenges of abuse/neglect, domestic violence, substance abuse, educational poverty and social isolation. That’s why we do what we do — to make a difference.

S. Michael Jones, MSW
I have been working with families and children for the past forty-five years in a variety of capacities: youth pastor, pastor, associate pastor, child welfare caseworker, social work intern in both urban and rural settings, family preservation services provider, guardian ad litem, supervised visitation monitor, parenting educator, and community organizer.
I have served alongside of and on organizations/boards at local, area, and state levels to bring about positive changes on behalf of families and children. I have served and worked with county judges, local police and sheriff’s departments, prosecutors, local health officials, mental health providers, and faith partners. As a speaker, I have presented at many local, state and national forum on a variety of topics.
With my many years of being a social service provider, I have witnessed positive situations in which families have demonstrated the resilience necessary to overcome much adversity which resulted in wonderful outcomes. I have also seen the unspeakable horrors of the devastating and toxic effects of child abuse, domestic violence, substance abuse, abject poverty, and a long history of family dysfunction. This is why Family Time Plus exists: committed to strengthen and encourage families.

The mission of Family Time Plus is to strengthen, encourage & empower families to create/maintain healthy family relationships that create resiliency in children and youth.
